Small Pocket Yields Amethyst and Smoky Quartz Geodes and More

Small Pocket Yields Amethyst and Smoky Quartz Geodes and More

A small but rich pocket, recently uncovered on ‘the Carver’, is yielding an amazing number of geodes and nodules. The nodules contain banded blue and gray agates and many contain amethyst and smoky quartz crystals found within geodes (hollows) within the nodules. New Bracelet: The Portal

New Bracelet: The Portal

The newest ‘Carver’ agate is the “Portal” agate.  This is one of the newest, most unique and beautiful agates found on ‘The Carver’.  It was named for the ‘portal’ in the center, surrounded by green, which leads to wherever your imagination wants to go. As a bonus, this stone has a beautiful yellow sunburst, as if the beautiful green inclusions were not enough. This stone was found in January 2018 and is part of a suite of totally different and unique stones (which included the citrine scepter). This suite of stones will be featured in an upcoming blog posting. I design and handcraft sterling silver bracelets when I find and cut a stone that captures my imagination.  I hope you enjoy this new bracelet: The Portal!
