Description

This Islesboro, Maine, gem is securely set in sterling silver. It is a flat topped, teardrop cab design with coloration I have only seen once in the Islesboro gemstones.

Note in the photo, there is an extensive fine streak of fool’s gold on the front of the stone that catches the light and sparkles even in dim light.

The fine fracture seen in the photo is the reason for the modest cost of this piece. The fracture is nearly invisible except for magnification which you see in the photo.

In my judgment the fracture does not impair the structure or beauty of the stone which is approximately 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch.
