New Bracelet: The Green Teardrop Agate

New Bracelet: The Green Teardrop Agate

This stone was found by me on The Carver, January, 2018. It appeared to be a yellow agate with some minor inclusions in part of the stone. I cut the stone several times through the yellow agate until I reached the multi-colored green inclusions that you see in the photo. It took a lot of cutting to get to the perfect stone! I like the stone so much and it is unique among stones previously placed into bracelets by me–it had to go into a bracelet. See the Shop for more views of Bracelet 27.

New Bracelet: The Blood Moon Eclipse

New Bracelet: The Blood Moon Eclipse

On January 31, 2018, just before sunrise, there was a super blue blood moon eclipse at the time of moon-set, which was around 6:30 a.m. Central Time. A blue moon is when there are two full moons in a calendar month. A super moon is a moon which is extremely close to the earth at the time of the full moon. The blood moon is an eclipse of the moon when the earth’s shadow crosses the full moon and the darkened moon appears reddish. The concurrence of all three events is extremely rare and so is the blood moon eclipse stone featured in my new bracelet. When this nodule was sliced open, it had the dark spot at the bottom where an ancient sagenite had fallen out of the stone. It reminded me of the blood  moon setting in West Texas. The multicolored yellows in the center of the stone reminded me of […]

New Bracelet: Unique “Carver” Agate

New Bracelet: Unique “Carver” Agate

Every now and then, I come across something unique. This new bracelet is a ‘Carver’ agate with red, yellow, orange, and green jasper all in the same stone! It features a small natural crystal geode-like void along the edge of the blue fortification agate.  I cut this stone to capture all of these colors within a single stone for this special bracelet. This stone is totally unique in coloration, completely natural, and hand cut and polished by me. Bracelet #2533 is set in sterling silver, marked with the J. L. Carver service mark and #22 on the back. It is available in the Shop now. I think you will agree it is unique!

New Bracelet: The Portal

New Bracelet: The Portal

The newest ‘Carver’ agate is the “Portal” agate.  This is one of the newest, most unique and beautiful agates found on ‘The Carver’.  It was named for the ‘portal’ in the center, surrounded by green, which leads to wherever your imagination wants to go. As a bonus, this stone has a beautiful yellow sunburst, as if the beautiful green inclusions were not enough. This stone was found in January 2018 and is part of a suite of totally different and unique stones (which included the citrine scepter). This suite of stones will be featured in an upcoming blog posting. I design and handcraft sterling silver bracelets when I find and cut a stone that captures my imagination.  I hope you enjoy this new bracelet: The Portal!

New Bracelet: The Flame

New Bracelet: The Flame

New bracelet design for “The Flame.” A new petite sterling silver bracelet design was created for a bi-color stone which has been named “The Flame.” The stone is a cross-sectional slice of a Carver agate nodule which gave the cut stone its shape, size and totally natural coloration. Note the orange/pink rind surrounding the pink flame has a subtle polished wood look to complement the pure flame interior. Be sure to view this bracelet in the Shop!

New Carver plume agate bracelet!

New Carver plume agate bracelet!

This is the most beautiful plume agate I have ever seen and the most beautiful plume so far from The Carver.  Plume agate was made world famous by the Woodward Ranch south of Alpine, TX, which claimed to be the only source of plume agate.  Plume agate is a coveted stone by most agate collectors.

????????????????????????????????????

NEW Bracelet!

New bracelet made by me, September 2017. A great example of red and yellow agatized jasper from ‘the Carver’.  I can no longer offer this for sale as it is gone already!  No wonder….. it is a very special stone. I will add this bracelet to my bracelet gallery so others can enjoy it, too.

New Bracelet

Another new bracelet to add to the collection! This stone is cut from a cross section of a geode found in ‘The Carver’. Petite crystalline center with a ghostly outline surrounding the pure white geode crystals–all surrounded by a virtually transparent glowing golden agate with the outer edge of the geode rind peaking out from under the bezel.  This is an extremely unusual stone. Set in heavy sterling silver band handmade by J.L. Carver, numbered (#20), and marked with John L. Carver service mark.  The stone is from ‘the Carver’ find, completely natural, cut and polished by hand by J.L. Carver.

New Bracelet

This stone is cut from a cross section of a geode found in ‘The Carver’.  It has a petite open crystalline center which leads to the geode’s ‘fill tube’ .  The tube is surrounded by pink pastel agate which is then surrounded by an orange band. The tube plunges through the stone giving a sense of depth and three dimensions.  The orange is surrounded by a nearly clear colorless band of agate.  This stone is set in sterling silver, numbered, and marked with John L. Carver service mark.  The band is heavy silver.  Stone is from ‘the Carver’ find, completely natural, cut and polished by hand by J. L. Carver. This new bracelet is available in the shop.

New Bracelet

New Bracelet

This is the first bracelet made since June 2016. The stone is a cross section of a geode from the “Carver”.  The geode hollow center (void) is backed with a hand ground starburst from the heel slab of the geode laminated to the primary geode slab.  This is the most unique and technically difficult of the first 18 bracelets I have made and offered for sale on this site. This bracelet is for sale in the Shop.
